New Year, New Me Research

January in Australia is peak optimism. The gym fills up, the pub stays busy, and shopping carts - both online and in-store - are still working overtime. But beneath the annual “New Year, New Me” mantra, what are Australians actually struggling with - and who’s truly changing?

Ideally surveyed 800 Australians to find out, and the results reveal a nation torn between intention and action. Convenience and consumption dominate the habit hit-list, with online shopping, alcohol and takeaway leading the charge. The big question isn’t what Australians want to change in 2026. It’s whether they actually will.

And what of Queenslanders? Compared to the rest of the country, subtle but telling differences emerge. But we probably expected that, didn’t we?
